I enjoy exploring the possibilities inherent in ceramic materials and processes. Formal considerations and historical references dominate my inquiry of functional and sculptural issues. I feel a connection with makers of the past. Forms and surfaces are a record of how they touched the clay and how the clay responded to that touch, how they used the fire and how the objects they made speak to their time and culture. I am blessed to be part of that continuum.
