Making pottery brings me the same joy as baking a pie for a special occasion, and happily pots last longer and can become beloved everyday objects. I am always searching for (and testing!) promising combinations of glazes to harmonize with simple forms. I especially love the challenge of matching a cup and a handle.
Pivot Pottery in Florence, Massachusetts is my home base where I throw stoneware and porcelain pots and experiment with glazes fired to cone 8 in electric oxidation. I also love the unpredictable magic of firing in the gas reduction and soda kilns at Berkshire Art Center.
