I make ceramics with the hope that it brings as much pleasure as I felt making it. I strive to make my work interesting and challenging. I am inspired by nature and the work of other artists. I am inspired by the way light bounces off the surfaces and color is changed by different atmospheric firing techniques. As a chef for 40 years I took delight in learning about other cultures through their cuisine. I bring that same curiosity to my ceramics in working to understand how different techniques effect my work.
